4thFest Family Activities have been canceled due to COVID-19. Fireworks TBD.
Due to the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Commerce City and the Colorado Rapids have decided to cancel the annual Fourth of July fireworks show at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
The fireworks show is typically part of the annual 4thFest celebration, which combines an outdoor festival with a Rapids home game. This year’s 4thFest was previously canceled and there is no July 4 Rapids home game this year due to the suspension of the MLS season. The city and the Rapids hope to work together to host a show later in the year. Potential dates will be evaluated once Major League Soccer has finalized a schedule for a potential return of Rapids home games to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park once the season resumes.
Personal fireworks remain illegal within Commerce City limits. The fine for possessing, storing, selling, or using fireworks within the city starts at $500 for the first offense and $750 for subsequent offenses. To report fireworks violations, call the non-emergency dispatch line at 303-288-1535.
