The Commerce City Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Commission is committed to creating opportunities that bring the community together to celebrate and embrace diversity. Following the success of their first-ever movie night in February to honor Black History Month, the commission is excited to continue the tradition with a special screening for Women’s History Month.
Women’s History Month is a time to recognize the vital role women have played in shaping history, breaking barriers, and advocating for equality. From pioneering leaders to everyday trailblazers, women have contributed in countless ways to our society’s progress. The DEI Commission invites the community to come together and celebrate these achievements with an inspiring film that highlights resilience, teamwork, and perseverance.
Join us for the DEI Commission’s Women’s History Month movie night event, on Sunday, March 23 at 2 p.m. at Bison Ridge Recreation Center, 13905 E. 112th Ave., featuring A League of Their Own. This PG-rated film tells the story of sisters Dottie and Kit, who joins the first female professional baseball league during World War II. As they work to help the league succeed, they navigate challenges both on and off the field, showcasing the strength and determination of women in sports.
