UPDATE:
COMMERCE CITY, COLO. (December 18, 2021) –Regarding the fatal single vehicle roll-over accident in the 5300 Block of Vasquez Boulevard, the roadway is now open in both directions.
The Commerce City Police Department Accident Investigation Team is continuing to investigate the accident. No additional information is available at this time.

COMMERCE CITY, COLO. (December 18, 2021) – Commerce City Police Officers are investigating a fatal single vehicle roll-over accident in the 5300 Block of Vasquez Boulevard. The driver was reportedly north bound on Vasquez Boulevard when the vehicle rolled after colliding with the median and guardrail. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
It is unknown if alcohol may be a contributing factor at this time.
The Commerce City Police Department Accident Investigation Team is continuing to investigate the accident. Vasquez Boulevard is currently closed in both directions between East 53rd Avenue and East 56th Avenue, and is expected to remain closed for the next several hours. The decedent’s identity will be determined and released by the Office of the Coroner. No additional information is available at this time.
This is the thirteenth fatal accident investigated in Commerce City this year.
