The City of Commerce City and the Commerce City Cultural Council seek to commission multiple public art sculptures along Tower Road, a prominent travel corridor between Denver and Commerce City.

Fireworks are illegal in Commerce City
It is illegal to possess, make, use or sell fireworks – even small sparklers – within Commerce City and on June 18 city council held an emergency ordinance and voted to increase the fine to $500 for the first offense and $750 for each subsequent offense.

Commerce City completes Highway 2 widening project
After 18 months of construction, Commerce City has completed the Highway 2 improvement project near E. 88th Avenue and Highway 2. The $27 million project widened Highway 2 from two to four lanes between E. 72nd Avenue and Interstate 76, a critical commuter and economic corridor for the region. Crews

E. 88th Avenue closure extended as railroad work continues
The current closure of E. 88th Avenue at the intersection with Highway 2 has been extended as crews from BNSF Railway continue repair work and installation of a second set of tracks at the crossing.

Tower-Peña project milestone: traffic switching to new lanes, rebuilt off-ramp opens Saturday
In the first major milestone of the Tower-Peña ramp and widening project, the rebuilt westbound Peña Boulevard off-ramp and a segment of the new lanes of Tower Road are scheduled to open to traffic this weekend (weather permitting).
